Sister Act The Musical: The Details

Premier Arts presents Sister Act The Musical at The Lerner Theatre, October 16-18. It brings performers from across the region to one of the most historic stages around for a show packed with music, comedy, and heart.

The best part? There’s a special all-youth cast performance on Saturday, October 17, produced in partnership with Friends of The Lerner and Boling Vision Center. If you’ve got a little performer at home, this one could spark some serious stage dreams.

Wait, What’s Sister Act About?

If you grew up loving the Whoopi Goldberg movie, you already know the vibe. Here’s the quick version:

• Disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder.
• The cops hide her where nobody would ever look: a convent!
• Disguised as a nun, she clashes with the strict rules and the uptight Mother Superior.
• She turns the struggling choir into a show-stopping powerhouse, but all that fame blows her cover.
• When the bad guys come calling, they’re up against Deloris and the power of sisterhood.

Honestly? A woman juggling a crisis, a bossy authority figure, and a group that needs organizing, all while still finding time to sing? Sounds like a regular Tuesday for most moms we know.
