More than just a community initiative-it’s our promise to connect, serve, and strengthen Elkhart County. Thank you to our friends at First State Bank, we are able to spotlight the stories for non-profits and local organizations that matter most to you.
Lifeline Youth Ministries
This month, we’re proud to shine the light on Lifeline Youth Ministries — and once you hear what they do, we think you’ll want to pitch in too.
Lifeline provides a full cycle of engagement for youth from 1st through 12th grade, offering a safe, family-like atmosphere for kids across Elkhart. From elementary clubs to middle and high school programming, summer camp, vocational training, and even diversion programs for at-risk youth, Lifeline meets kids exactly where they are — and walks with them toward a better future. elkhartlifeline
What makes this organization special isn’t just the programs, it’s the relationships. As their founder Irv Polk puts it, “Through these doors walk the greatest kids in Elkhart!” And Lifeline backs that belief up with action: 54,000 square feet of space dedicated to fun, learning, and building relationships — a place that has become a safe haven for students, staff, and parents alike, and has built real trust with families across Elkhart. elkhartlifeline
Their mission is simple but powerful: serve Elkhart’s youth by providing caring role models, teaching life skills, developing student leaders, and demonstrating love in a way that changes lives. It’s built on four pillars they live out every day — community, excellence, stewardship, and servant leadership. elkhartlifeline
Here’s the thing: raising a kid takes a village, and for a lot of Elkhart’s young people, Lifeline is that village. Mentors who show up. A safe place after school. A summer camp bunk instead of an empty house. A second chance instead of a closed door.
How you can help:
- Donate — every dollar goes directly toward keeping Lifeline’s doors open to kids who need it
- Volunteer — they’re always looking for after-school volunteers and mentors
- Spread the word — share their story, follow along on social, or drop by the Hub at 2721 Prairie Street
You can donate directly at elkhartlifeline.com/donate, or stop by and see the impact for yourself.
This month, let’s show Lifeline Youth Ministries some Froggy love. Because the greatest kids in Elkhart deserve the greatest support.
Shine your light, Elkhart.
