Why Inside Out 2 Will Hit You Right in the Heart
You already know the Inside Out universe is built differently. Pixar’s sequel picks up with Riley as a teenager — and just when Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust think they have things figured out, a demolition crew arrives at Headquarters to make room for a whole new crew of emotions. The one that steals the show? Anxiety. (And honestly, every mom in the audience will feel deeply, personally called out in the best way possible.)
Inside Out 2 is one of those rare films that works on every level — it’s hilarious and fast-paced enough to keep your kids locked in, and emotionally layered enough that you might need a tissue or two by the end. It’s a movie about growing up, letting go, and learning that ALL of our emotions — even the messy ones — have a place. Not a bad message for a Thursday night out with the family.
