Mom, Grab the Kids — Downtown Goshen Just Leveled Up Your Friday Night

Real talk: by Friday afternoon, your brain is basically oatmeal and your idea of a “big night out” is finishing a glass of wine before it gets warm. But this Friday, downtown Goshen is doing the planning for you — and all you have to do is show up. 🙌

Friday, July 3, from 5–9 p.m., Main Street transforms for the Great Goshen Car Show & Bike Night, and it might be the easiest “fun family outing” win you get all summer.

What’s Actually Happening Downtown

This isn’t just a car show — it’s basically a whole festival packed into one evening. Here’s the rundown:

  • Rows of incredible vehicles — classic cars, hot rods, customs, and vintage rides lining Main Street, all competing for the People’s Choice Award
  • NEW this year: Bike Night — a dedicated motorcycle showcase with categories like Best Paint and Best Custom, plus a live tank-painting demo you have to see to believe
  • Live music all evening, including sets from Quite Frank Lee and “Steel Cowboy” Phil Everingham
  • Food trucks and a beer garden, including a Patriotic Pop popcorn special just in time for the 4th

You can check out the full lineup of food, drinks, and entertainment on the official event page — trust us, you’ll want the details before you go.

Okay, But What About the Kids?

This is the part Sarah-brain actually cares about, so let’s get into it.

  • Touch-a-Truck with the Goshen Fire Department at the corner of Jefferson and Main (every kid’s dream, every parent’s photo op)
  • FREE face painting for kids 10 and under at the Goshen Elks Lodge, 5–8 p.m.
  • A free craft for all ages at Garden City Church
  • The Chill Zone, presented in part by the Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart County, with activities just for young adults

And if you’ve got a little one who still needs a quiet moment mid-festival, Goshen Health’s Mother’s Tent has you covered for nursing or changing — because somebody downtown actually gets it.

A Few Mom-Approved Logistics Tips

  • Park your bikes for free at the Bike Valet, presented by the Pumpkinvine Trails Coalition — perfect if you’re rolling in as a family.
  • Downtown Goshen is now an official DORA (Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area), meaning grown-ups 21+ can grab a drink and sip it while strolling the festival grounds — just stay inside the marked boundaries and, you know, be responsible about it.
  • It’s a walkable event, so wear the comfy shoes and let the kids run a little wild.

Why This One’s Worth the Trip

Whether you’re a total gearhead, you just love a good people-watching evening, or you simply need an excuse to get the family out of the house, First Fridays in Goshen delivers all the small-town charm with zero planning required on your end. Shop local, eat well, hear some live tunes, and let the kids burn off energy before bedtime. It’s basically the perfect Friday reset.

Get all the entertainment times, food vendors, and shopping specials on the official Great Goshen Car Show event page.
