Curbside Concerts 2026: Your Free Summer Night Out in Downtown Elkhart Is Back

Written by on April 14, 2026

Every Friday night this summer, downtown Elkhart is calling your name — and the best part? It won’t cost you a thing.

If you haven’t been to Curbside Concerts yet, this is the summer you fix that. And if you’re already a fan? The 2026 lineup is the best one yet. Elkhart County’s favorite free outdoor concert series — hosted by the Elkhart Public Library — kicks off its seventh season on Friday, May 22, with shows running all the way through September.

So grab your camp chair, text your sister, call your friend from work, and start making plans. Here’s everything you need to know.

What Is Curbside Concerts?

Curbside Concerts is a free, outdoor concert series held in the Elkhart Public Library parking lot in downtown Elkhart. Bands perform on the rooftop, and you watch from below — which, honestly, sounds cooler every time you say it out loud.

Shows start at 7 p.m. on Friday nights, with one special Saturday show in June. There’s a beer tent, wine, food trucks, and it’s all-ages, so yes — you can bring the kids, though let’s be honest, this one’s also just for you.

The 2026 Curbside Concerts Lineup

Mark your calendar — here’s who’s taking the rooftop this year:

  • Friday, May 22Darryl Buchanan and the Soul Motown Allstars — they’re performing IN THE ROUND this year for a brand new experience. What a way to open the season.
  • Friday, May 29BLAMMO! — a Curbside Concerts first-timer. First times are always exciting.
  • Friday, June 5The Erly — high energy as summer officially gets going.
  • Friday, June 12Starlord — the prog rock band that other musicians take the night off to go see. That’s not hype, that’s a reputation.
  • Friday, June 19Zion Lion from Kalamazoo — reggae vibes to kick off the jazz fest parking lot party weekend.
  • Saturday, June 20St. Eve and The Vibe — a special Saturday night show to keep the party alive.
  • Friday, June 26High Gravity (the house band!) returns for their seventh rooftop appearance — this time with DOUBLE the drums. Jordan Adams joins Adam Fann on stage. Yes, please.
  • Friday, July 3Paul Erdman with special guest Marcus Clingaman — celebrating America 250 with a special 6 p.m. start time.
  • Friday, Aug. 21The Buddy System (Buddy Pearson, Rafael Chavez, and Nelson Miles) gets the fall set started.
  • Friday, Aug. 28Duke Tumatoe. Need we say more?
  • Friday, Sept. 4Southside Denny brings the blues for his very first rooftop appearance.
  • Friday, Sept. 11The Tumbleweed Jumpers — the feel-good band of forever. Always a crowd favorite.
  • Friday, Sept. 18Why Not Both? — South Bend indie rock making their Curbside debut.
  • Friday, Sept. 25 – Announcement coming soon. Or maybe it rains. Except, according to Curbside Concerts lore, it never rains in downtown Elkhart.

All shows are presented with support from the Elkhart County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The Food Is Half the Fun

No one should show up to a Friday night concert hungry. Here’s what’s fueling the fun in 2026:

  • That Guys Gourmet Ribs — back almost every Friday and all jazz fest weekend
  • Tropicana Ice Cream Shop — because ice cream + live music is a basic human right
  • Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn — new this year and already sounds like a good decision

Everything Else You Need to Know Before You Go

  • It’s free. Every single show.
  • Bring camp chairs — you’ll watch from the parking lot while the band rocks the roof above you.
  • Beer, wine, and soda are available for purchase at the beer tent.
  • All ages are welcome in the library parking lot.
  • Downtown Outdoor Refreshment Area: Elkhart’s social district means you can enjoy your drink while walking around — just make sure you have an approved cup.
  • Parking is available on the street or in nearby municipal lots.
  • Merch — many musicians will have items for sale. Cash and card both accepted at the library.

How to Know If a Show Is On

Curbside Concerts operates under a strict “it never rains in downtown Elkhart” policy — but just in case the weather disagrees, follow their Facebook page for updates and any rain date announcements.

Why You Should Go (Even When Life Is Busy)

Look, summer fills up fast. Between the kids’ activities, work, and the 47 things you’re already trying to juggle, it’s easy to let a Friday night slip by on the couch. But Curbside Concerts is one of those things that just feels good every time you show up.

No tickets to buy. No babysitter budget to blow. Just good music, good people, a cold drink in hand, and a front-row seat to one of the best free summer traditions in Michiana.

Seven years in, Curbside Concerts is still one of Elkhart County’s most loved warm-weather events — and this year, they’re going bigger than ever.

May 22 can’t come soon enough.
