Shaylee’s Light, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit to honor Shaylee Bedward-Downs and her legacy. It was started by her family, after her 4-year journey with ovarian cancer came to an end.

During her journey, Shaylee’s presence was a “light” in an otherwise very dark situation. She made a point to teach women to be their own advocate and to become aware of ovarian cancer, no matter their age. She inspired, encouraged, and gave hope to women going through ovarian cancer, as well as anyone and everyone she came in contact with by encouraging them to “find happiness in every day.” She motivated everyone to live life to the fullest, and she never let cancer steel her joy!
